DISTANT

My song "Distant" is meant to reflect the experience of dissociating, something I have struggled with. The chords throughout the song are more melancholy while the instrumentation pushes towards creepy. Instruments build on top of each other as the verses progress to emulate overstimulation while the reverb heavy vocals add to the eeriness. The lyrics focus primarily on confusion, containing many rhetorical questions. This is my first song and, like much of my work in other artistic fields, I used it to explore and express personal issues. I hope I will be able to look back on this song as my musical talents and knowledge progress.
